It has occurred to me that the letters following my name, impressive as they may seem, are little more than acronyms unless you are aware of their significance. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with these designations It can be an intimidating task, but it is your responsibility to hire a competent consultant. It is my responsibility to remain current and highly qualified.
Some might think that being engaged in an occupation for a time qualifies one to advise others. Simply not so. The real estate market adjusts on a daily basis as do interest rates and available financing options, new state and federal regulations are instituted while industry standards adapt to these changing laws. The actual property that you are buying or selling is just one small variable in a much larger equation, and keeping up with it all is so much more than simply talking the real estate talk. The designations that follow my name are evidence that in addition to full-time involvement, I believe my clients deserve my commitment to continuing education.
The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) is the highest Designation awarded
to sales associates in the residential sales field. The CRS Designation recognizes professional accomplishments in both experience and education and is only earned by meeting stringent requirements. Subject matter includes but is not limited to: marketing, financing, protecting client interests, residential investments, environmental issues, technology.
The National Association of Realtors is the conscience of the industry and GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) is the mark of a real estate professional who has made the commitment to provide the highest level of professional services. The GRI program includes 90 hours of coursework on topics from servicing listed properties to real estate law and successfully dealing with the increasing complexity of real estate transactions.
The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is designed as an educational tool focused directly on the representation of buyer-clients. To obtain the ABR, agents must successfully complete both compulsory and elective courses and pass an exam, provide documentation verifying experience, and maintain good membership status in the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council.
